Fuel Card Overview
Fleet cards, also known as fuel cards, are specialized payment cards designed for managing fuel purchases. They allow businesses to monitor and control fuel expenses, track transactions in real-time, and optimize fleet operations. These cards are typically issued by fuel networks or specialty providers and offer tailored solutions for businesses of all sizes. Multi Service Fuel Card provides a fleet card solution for Class 7-8 over-the-road trucking fleets that require diesel and alternative fuel solutions at locations prepared to handle commercial tractor trailers. We also provide a mixed fleet fuel card solution for commercial fleets with Class 1-6 vehicles that may require gasoline and / or diesel fuel.
No, fleet cards are not limited to large fleets. They are a versatile solution that benefits businesses of all sizes, from a single-truck owner operator to fleets with hundreds of commercial vehicles. Whether you're managing a small business or a large enterprise, fleet cards provide control, tracking, and convenience to suit your operational needs. Fleet cards are for commercial operations. We will request an MC or DOT Number in order to process your fuel card application.
Fleet cards are specifically designed for fuel purchases, offering detailed transaction information, reporting and spending controls that traditional credit cards do not provide. Unlike credit cards, fleet cards often come with additional features such as fuel discounts and tools for monitoring fuel usage, making them ideal for businesses focused on managing fuel expenses efficiently.

Fleet card customers can restrict purchases of ancillary products through purchase controls located on the MS Fleet user portal.
Over-the-road fuel card customers with an unsecured or secured line of credit can access cash directly from their fuel card account using Insta Money checks, which are issued to all accounts upon request and available at most truck stops. The amount of cash available to fleets is dependent upon the size of their fuel card credit line. There may be fees associated with cash withdrawals.
The local, mixed fleet fuel card program does not provide cash options.

We provide three different types of credit lines: unsecured, secured, and prepaid.
Unsecured business credit lines are allocated based upon your business credit score. They do not require collateral from the business to establish an available line of credit. On the other hand, secured credit lines are supported by a monetary deposit to establish the credit line. The operation of the account then operates in a similar way to an unsecured line of credit in that the customer can charge up to the established credit line within a billing cycle. Secured credit account activity and payment history can be reported to credit bureaus in the same way unsecured credit lines are, which can help a business with limited credit history build their credit score over time.
Prepaid credit lines enable users to deposit funds before purchase without the need for a credit check. A prepaid credit line can provide additional levels of control over spending on an account for fleet managers while also providing fuel discounts and reporting benefits.
Depending on fleet business needs and credit history, certain credit line options may be more suitable. Our team can assist in determining the best choice for you.
